A wine of both pedigree and patience, the 2011 Museum Reserve Shiraz has been cellared for 14 years in perfect conditions at our Swan Valley winery before being released in very limited quantities.
This award-winning Shiraz is drinking at its absolute peak, rich, full-bodied, and silky smooth. Layers of mulberry, plum, and black cherry are beautifully balanced by velvety tannins and a subtle, earthy vanillin finish that lingers long after the last sip.
The exceptional 2011 vintage delivered optimal growing conditions, resulting in a wine that is powerful, refined, and gracefully matured. This is classic Upper Reach Shiraz, showcasing the elegance and complexity that only time can create.

During lockdown last year we also polished off a few 2012 Reserve Shiraz. It was OK, the colour was good, but it did have a ‘hot’ flavour (presumably from the high alcohol), but after being opened for about 3 hours, (yes there was some left), it had mellowed out to a lovely wine.
By comparison the 2013 was good from the get-go. Still purple in colour, its nose and palate seemed well integrated and beautiful to drink. This one didn’t last 3 hours.
I still have another 2013 to look forward to, then some 2014 and 2015 to contemplate.
