Bold, polished and generous, but totally drinkable from day one.
This lively, medium-bodied Shiraz strikes a beautiful balance between intensity and elegance, with that Swan Valley softness that makes our wines so appealing as youngsters.
Aromas of crushed blackberry, red plum, and violets, layered with subtle hints of black pepper, olives, mocha and dried herbs.
On the palate, juicy red and dark fruits unfold with a silky texture, while a thread of spice and earthy minerality adds depth.
Gentle tannins and fresh acidity keep this wine bright and energetic, making it equally suited to sipping on its own or pairing with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or spiced dishes.
We make some of Western Australia's best Shiraz, these are a refelection of the micro-climate found in the lowest part, the gully area of our Swan Valley vineyard.

The Gully's clay river soil and cooler temperatures create this outstanding Shiraz. It is a flood way; when the Swan River breaks its banks, it flows through this part of the vineyard.
The Gully has a unique micro-climate, it's the lowest part of our vineyard and the lowest part of the Swan Valley.
This means that cool air pools down there, it is noticably cooler for an hour or two in the mornings and in the afternoon the sea breeze flows up the Swan River and cools the temperature in the gully area.
This combined with the alluvial clay river soil, makes the grapes grown in the gully a true reflection of this special place.

- open fermented after 24 hours cold soak
- reduced pumpover length and frequency to reduce tanin extraction from the grape skins
- matured in new and some older French oak for 12 months
