Chef Ryan Fels believes in sourcing from local suppliers for the utmost freshness in his produce.   ‘I’ve always been really big on locally sourced ingredients, and as Western Australia has some of the best in the world why would you really need to look outside of your own backyard!  It’s pretty amazing just how far the local food scene has come in the past ten years.’

TreeHouse Pizza Bar - Hand stretched Neapolitan Pizza

Built around the magnificent Marri tree, which is a focal point for everyone visiting Upper Reach, The Treehouse Pizza Bar is perched between the vineyard and the Swan River on one side and the beautiful lawn, cellar door and restaurant on the other.  

The Treehouse features a range of delicious Neopolitan pizzas, created using fresh and locally-sourced ingredients, paired perfectly with Upper Reach’s award-winning wines.  

Guests can enjoy a pizza, wine or draught beer while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards.

Cellar Door & Wine Experiences 

Upper Reach offers a range of experiences, including wine appreciation classes, private winery tours as well as tastings. Winery Tours run everyday at 10.30 for an hour and includes a full wine tasting. The cellar door boasts an extensive range of wines, including the highly-acclaimed Reserve Shiraz and the favourites Verdelho, Chardonnay & Rose.

About Upper Reach

At Upper Reach we believe that wine is one of life’s essentials- along with family, friends and good food. 

Upper Reach is a modern, boutique family owned and operated Swan Valley winery. 

Derek Pearse (owner & winemaker) grew up on his family’s wheat farm at Wubin, but it was while working in a wine shop in London, he discovered his true passion… wine.  

Derek knew nothing about grapegrowing or wine making, but decided to have a go after he saw an advert for a run down vineyard on the banks of the Swan River. The first huge challenge was growing grapes and that naturally progressed into making wine.  
‘You learn pretty quick when it's your own time and your own money. You don't make the same mistake twice.’  

27 years later Upper Reach has won numerous wine trophies, medals & cellar door awards.

The original two bedroom workers cottage on the property has been converted into the perfect getaway. 

Relax with a glass of wine on the verenda overlooking the vineyard as the sun sets over the vines. 
You'll be the only guests, as there is only the one cottage, so in the evening the vineyard is yours.
