Derek (the winemaker) is absolutely delighted with the 2009 Reserve Chardonnay.

He thinks its much more elegant and delicate then the previous few vintages...it was probably the cool lead up to Christmas which made a big difference during the growing season for the 2009 Reserve Chardonnay, and of course (Derek reckons) his growing skill..!?!?

Lemon meringue on the nose and peaches & nectarines on the palate. The extended lees maturation has added complexity as has the malolactic fermentation.

Food Match: Grilled Swordfish with caponata (a roast vegetable & pine nut sauce) & Salsa Verde

2008 Reserve Chardonnay

2008 is looking like a great vintage, the 2008 Reserve Chardonnay is very, very good.

The hughly rich palate displays intense vanilla, pear and a hint of nutmeg with toasty aromas.

Added complexity from the lees maturation and malolactic fermentation has resulted in this creamy, multi-layered, complex wine. There is great depth and a very long finish.

The 2008 just got better and better over time. I'm going to hold onto mine until 2012 (well' that's the plan anyway)

This wine will develop with cellaring for three to five years
