CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2009
We have bottled the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and just released it (October 2010)...it's fabulous!
2009 is looking like the best vintage ever in the Swan Valley for red wines.
"Rich, sweet dark fruit layered on some quality oak with an excellent framework of firm tannins, and you are well on the way to making a classy Cabernet like this one. It's an excellent example of what can be done in the Swan with this variety. Will really hit its straps in another few years." Ray Jordan 2011 WA Wine Guide
The Upper Reach Cabernet Sauvignon made The West Australian's Ray Jordan's Top Reds under $30 for 2010

As we only make our Cabernet Sauvignon when the fruit looks great, we did not release a 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2007
We have aged a very small amount of the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon and have re-released it.
The 2007 is avaiable for purchase at our Cellar Door.
This new and limited release is an outstanding example of Swan Valley Cabernet.
This wine is blended from the very best barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon. At Upper Reach we are very fortunate to be able to keep all the batches of fruit separate, from picking, through fermentation to the barrel ageing.
During the ageing process the best barrels are chosen for further maturation and then blended to create the Cabernet Sauvignon.
This wine shows the tight, concentrated, intense palate typical of Cabernet Sauvignon, with hints of blackberry, leafy mint and bittersweet chocolate undertones.
The pallet is tight and concentrated with careful oak handling, provides structure and great length.
Upper Reach only makes a straight Cabernet when the fruit look truly exceptional; the last one was made in 2004.
We have only made a very limited amount of this wine, and half of it has been sold already so don't delay too long.
Food Match: Roast Lamb, Veal Osso Bucco.
Cellaring: Lovely now, but better with 5 years cellaring.
Bottling Date: Tuesday 20th November 2007.
